Ataxia
Ataxia is a neurological condition that causes problems with coordination and balance. People with ataxia may have difficulty walking steadily, controlling their hand movements or speaking clearly. This happens because of damage to the parts of the brain or nerves that control muscle coordination. Ataxia can result from various causes, including genetic disorders, stroke, head injury, infections or diseases that affect the nervous system. While there is no cure for some types of ataxia, treatment focuses on managing symptoms through physical therapy, occupational therapy & care to improve coordination.
